Scene 192: Starbucks
So the AAA guy comes out to unlock my friend's car after she locked her keys in it at Starbucks. After I was done signing all the forms (we used my membership), the AAA guy, who is like 5'5" says:AAA Guy: I once had a girlfriend as tall as you.
Me: (Unable to control my shocked reaction) YOU??
AAA Guy: Yeah.
Me: AS TALL AS ME??
AAA Guy: Yeah!
Me: Oh, wow.. Cool.
So then I go inside and start telling my friend about how the AAA guy told me he once dated a girl as tall as me. The Starbucks clerks overhear and one seizes the opportunity:
Starbucks girl: How tall ARE you?
Me: 6'5"
Starbucks girl: Wow, I wish I was 6'5".
I just smiled. I used to tell people "No you don't," but I don't anymore. Like I said before, the rewards of knowing you are "special" far outweigh the disadvantages.

what happened to scene 191? did i miss something?
My bad.. scene 191 is still in progress. Sometimes I only have enough time to blog the title, then I go back in and write what happened later.. I forgot to post #191. I'll do that now.
it's not that weird for a short man to be dating a tall girl... I'm 5'7" and my girlfriend is 6'3" 1/2, we've been dating for a year and we're very happy! Not all tall women dislike short men as you seem to, believe me!
No need to get your panties in a huff, Ludy. I know it happens, but I disagree that it's not unusual.
My surprise was due to the fact that:
1) Many men would not date a woman taller than them. I don't know why. Call it intimidation. Call it custom. All I know is it's a fact.
2) Many tall women won't date guys shorter than them. I have in the past, and I just don't like it as much as dating men my height. Call it intimidation. Call it custom. All I know is it's a fact.
3) C'mon, there are like five other women in the entire U.S. who are as tall as me. What are the odds this guy has really dated one of them??
I realize now that it must've come out harshly, but that wasn't my intent. I wasn't trying to imply tall women were too good for him. I just didn't believe him b/c of the improbability of such an unusual occurance. Consider yourself one of the few lucky tall+short couples, I guess. They are few and far between.
I've been reading your blog for awhile and I've just got to come out and say that I'm only 6'3. My last girlfriend was 6'6, so there are SOME guys out there who don't care about height. Unfortunately, the stares got to her and we had to eventually break up. Apparently, her new boyfriend is short so there are also some women who like to date shorter men.
Again, my point is not that it doesn't happen. Only that it is rare. Even rarer for the woman to be 6'5" or 6'6".
I remember all the cat calls and pointing and pointed stares when we "dated". I kinda liked the attention, or was it you? I don't remember.
Is your boyfriend still worried I might be edging in on his turf if I recall the past? I promise that I'll be good.
Oh wait, this one is married now. Not that it'll stop me.
Actually I wasn't offended and I like reading your blog, it's a lot of fun, I like your sense of humor. Many of the stories you tell are a lot like those I've been hearing from my girlfriend, but she's not as bothered as you by what you call "tall harassment". Actually, she sort of like it! Anyway, my point is that height is not the main thing about a person. I like my girlfriend for being tall, but I would like her even if she was 5'2", and I think he would tell you the same about me (the other way around, of course...). What we share goes far beyond the height discrepancy and I'm self confident enough to cope with the people staring at us and laughing when we walk around...

I'm also 5'5" guy and female height was always equal to beauty when it comes to me. Wooow? Ahhhh? Is that a crime by me to have this feeling or to express about it here or anywhere else? Why would this be "harassment"?!?
If you have a complex concerning your height and hence, you hate shorter guys, thats not the fault of them. I met many tall girls who liked me and never thought this way. In fact, some of them were so pleased to know I liked their height. Why not, knowing that your most remarkable feature can make some people on earth smile. Why such possitive thinking be "weird"?
I'm not a fetishist though. I hate those muscular women, BBW, ..etc. If a large woman would try to dominate/hurt me, I'll show her what manhood would mean.
I like large females but those who are still high quality females. I don't see any mistake in that, but rather, a high level of sensation.
Finally, I'd apologize however if any of said above falls under that "harass" thing.
