A day of social progress for tall people everywhere

Nov 4, 2008 was a day of monumental change. No, not because of the election. It was the day when my favorite tall clothing store, Long Tall Sally, launched its American website. That means no more outrageous UK conversion rates, international shipping rates, or duty import taxes. I can't even tell you how much easier this makes my life.

Coincidentally, Nov 4, 2008 was also the day my very first order arrived from Gap.com/OldNavy.com/BananaRepublic.com. I had heard they had tall sizes, but was afraid to try them for fear they wouldn't be tall enough. Well, the clothes have come, and they are perfect. Nice long arms and bodies on the sweaters. And Old Navy and Gap are very reasonably priced. So this open up a whole new world of shopping possibilities for me. I am over the moon.

Hope your election day went as well as mine.

Glad to see the blog back.

Just wanted to point out that New York and Co. stores have pants with 36" inseams and they have fabulous sales!

Hi Cladeedah,

I was in Vegas last week and was at the Levi's outlet mall. One of the staff was helping me find extra tall jeans and when cashing out, told me to check out your blog which is great. I think his name was Michael (he had slicked back hair in a 60's quiff style) so tell him Eddie, the tall guy from London did indeed check in.

Cheers,
Eddie

I get stuff from old navy.com all the time. Much cheaper than the Dillard's big and tall section.

Hey! Come baaaack! I'm 6'4", and it's really nice finding another blog about being a tall girl. My blog is at www.redwoodlings.com but I mostly use it just to talk about clothes for tall girls. Well, I hope you start posting again, but even if you don't, thanks for sharing your frustrations.

ooooh just found you! I am in Australia. I'm 6'2". and we really need some shops for tall gals over here. I am extremly jealous that Long Tall Sally is selling in US$... now AU$? plllleeeeeeeeease!!! I did find some tall jeans today - only reason they fitted and were long enough was because they had a 3 inch cuff at the bottom - which when I turned back down were just the right length for me 35". Success! People don't understand my excitment when i find jeans that fit. Enjoying your blog x

i ran across this site - tallgirlsblog.com - and it has a lot of stores for tall girls listed with pictures, and they're even broken down into categories (like budget level, size category, and by clothing item!). plus, you can submit reviews on the stores & their clothing so other tall girls can be better informed. i've used this site soooo much! i hope it helps all you tall readers here :)

Hi, sorry,I'm new to thisandso didn't know howto send you aprivate message...
I’m starting my own tall blog, dedicated to seeking ways for tall women to keep up to date with current fashion trends by looking at looks in magazines and finding products from tall shops/ranges to recreate them.
Have a look at http://talltrends.blogspot.com/
It’s a little bare at the moment but if you think that my blog is something that you could support then please mention me somewhere on yours and I would be happy to return the favour.
Thanks!

I love Long Tall Sally too, but I wear a lot of skirts, and they dont have much to offer there.
I loved this floral one I found, but oh, guess what? Its a mini. 16 inches long. Okay, just FYI thats how long any. other. normal. skirt. is.
Make something for TALL girls how about?
