Scene 215: Champagne's Bar
Alright, I'm back. No, the tall comments didn't stop (I wish). I only got too overwhelmed to post for a while is all. But I'm back now, and I'm going to try and be better about documenting the tall comments. Gotta keep keepin' it real for the angry tall grrrls out there.
Here is one from a few weeks back...
So I'm at this dive karaoke bar, just hanging out with some friends. I move closer to the stage to watch my friend sing, when all of a sudden, this super-drunk lady jumps up and yells out: "OH MY GOD, IT'S WONDER WOMAN!!!"
Now, for those who don't go way back with me on this blog, you have to know, the one tall comment I LOVE to get is the Wonder Woman comment. I will take a comparison to that sexy bitch any day. I don't get it too often, but when I do, it usually makes for a pretty good story.
This lady's name was Julie. She was super-drunk and sooooooo excited to see me. My poor friend's performance got upstaged by everyone wanting to know why this lady was freaking out and calling me Wonder Woman.
I can't remember the conversation exactly. I know she wanted to know my name and all about me. She also wanted a picture with me real bad. While ordinarily I don't like to pose for spontaneous, admission-free, freakshow photos, I made an exception for Julie. One, because in her drunken stupor, she thought I was Wonder Woman (God bless those beer googles), and two, because Julie was super-short - like 4'10" or 4'11". So it was more of a mutually beneficial freakshow photo. See, isn't that nice?
A little while later, it was my turn to sing. Julie was very excited. So excited, she came up to sing with me. Afterword, she commented about how happy it made her that she got to sing karaoke with Wonder Woman.

welcome back! missed yr tall stories. though i'm just slightly taller than average in my country (at 5"3!) it's still short. i wish i was yr height, not just for the much fresher air u must get up there (which i tell u would be great in the tropics if u're travelling on public transport with all the b.o. going on *pfff!*)
came over here from your old friend lyss... and i've been laughing and laughing and laughing. these are really good! (people are such fucking idiots, huh?)
oh oh, and i meant to say i *love* that picture and also that you look beautiful.
Wonder Woman wasn't really known for her height was she?

I met the real wonder woman before (linda carter)! she lives in Maryland. I moved down here having no idea she lived here until she came and ate at the restaurant I work at. I think I nearly died when I saw her. As a tall black-haired spaniard, I have litterally bought blue contacts before because when I wear them I get the same comparison. It's totally a compliment to get compared to the ultimate amazon. funny thing though: she's no that tall. Only like 5'9" maybe 5'10". but she still carries it like a goddess.
